Trap-eze with fastback, glove of Griffey and Trout
My glove was a Rawlings GG Gamer Series 12.75” G601B, whose current equivalent is the R9 also in 601 pattern or Pro Preferred MT27 (Mike Trout). On July 31, the MLB trading deadline, I returned the $140 R9 glove and received my $420 Pro Preferred Mike Trout Gameday MT27 glove, so my son and I had our first catch with his new Aaron Judge 11.5” glove and my Trout 12.75” glove. His Judge soft, full-grain leather has “easy break-in: 75% Factory, 25% Player,” but my Trout softer kip leather is “30% Factory, 70% Player,” so stiff that the ball rolls around or falls out, but both gloves will be broken in within a month. Once broken in, I will love this glove.

Rip in the leather
I love the glove except after two weeks of using it and breaking it in the leather started ripping on the palm, I will say the Rawlings Returns system has been very helpful and sent me a new one and I like it.

If you haven't tried a Wingtip pattern...
Sometimes you get a glove and notice that the pictures are better than the actual glove. Well, in this case, the glove in person is absolutely stunning. This is my first Wingtip with Pro Preferred leather. The combo is amazing. Easy to break in thumb to pinky for a deep and scoopy glove. Wingtip gloves are easy to use 2-in-the-pinky, so the pinky slot has a luxurious full-length mitten that's wide enough for 2 fingers if you have your hand shifted, but also the perfect size to brace your pinky if you use it standard.

Unbeatable!
Treated myself to a new first base glove for the 2025 season. I've never been happier with a purchase. Rawlings always makes top quality gloves, but this is on another level. Somehow they found a way to improve and make the leather grain and shape even better than any previous model. Fully broken in now and no dropped balls yet.

Great glove
I’m a 17 year old highschool catcher looking to play college baseball and I couldn’t recommend a better mitt than this

This thing is a dream!
I bought this glove 2 weeks ago and I'm already in love with it, I won't let it out of my site. This is my first Pro Preferred but definitely not my last. For anyone on the fence, just get it! You won't regret it!

Fantastic quality baseball glove
This is an amazing glove - it’s beautiful, ergonomic and works fantastic. The leather is soft and the padding is great, not too thick but feels nice and protective and is very effective. It broke in fast and you can feel the level of quality when you wear it - definitely feels like a glove that will last a long time. Really high quality material and fit and I’m having such a great time playing ball with it!
